I know you flatly refused portocath but speak with your chemo nurses and get the comparison re:risks, comfort etc. for these to a picc line. The procedure was a day surgery admission for a few hours, I experienced no pain and quickly healed. I am a nurse and my decision was with a portocath, due to difficulty in accessing my veins. I had a bilat mastectomy, dose dense chemo fortnightly for 8 rounds. I experienced no issues, chemo administered quickly and efficently each round.
