Hi I know how you feel about the margins not being clear,I don't know if you have read my story but I had 3 lumpectomies with sentinel node removal, the last one had a margin clearance 0.6mm which my surgeon didn't feel was good enough so had a mastectomy on 2.3.11 with lymph node clearance, then another shock, they found another cancer 10mm seperate to the main cancer and also micrmatastasis in one of the 14 lymph nodes, so I went from presenting with a 2cm cancer to being 4.75cm apparently it was unusual and not showing up on the films. That is why I am going to have the chemo, I apparently like to keep things hidden!!!!!
Do you know what chemo you will be taking?
Yes a sense of humour does help but not always easy to maintain, but I find that I keep it bottled up for a while and then when I do have the "pity party" feel a lot better and can move on.
It is a dreadful disease, but thank goodness the survival rate is so high not like 20 years ago.
Nice to hear from you,
Cheerio for now,
Jacqui
