Awaiting change over

Hi to everyone out there,

This is the first time I have been on the site. I have read many a great stories over the past year since my profalactic mastectomy and ovaries removed due to a positive to BRCA 2 gene.

I have an amazing support structure in my family and friends,  however it has just sort of hit me this past few weeks how important it is for recovery not only physically but mentally and emotionally to chat with others who have had a similar journey.

I am awaiting to have my expanders removed which have now been with me for 14 months. Originally I was informed that I would not need cemo, not the case. So all recon work ceased until cemo and radio therapy complete.  Started the expansion had a few hiccups and my right breast was expanded to a c cup size while my right one is only a b cup due to my skin not stretching well due to the radiotherapy.

I would love to chat with anyone who is around my 57 yrs and perhaps experiencing a similar journey.

So much more to share, thanks for taking the time to read.

Cheers Dianne

  • Hello Ladies,

It is now 2 years into the journey and all is well.  I had the expanders out in Febuary this year ( thank goodness ) and implants are in nice and snug.  We had a few issues with my left  side with skin tightness, which was damaged through radiation. My PS did a great job and it is still ongoing with some fat transfers coming up to fill in some gaps.  Amazing what they can do. During my recovery period I was pretty much on top of my overall health and fitness, most of the time.  However there certainly were times when I really struggled to stay motivated, energized and consistent with anything that required being organized or committed to other than getting to doctors or specialists appointments.  So much has happened this past two years and I new that I had to share this  part of my life and the experiences with others.  My desire  to  make a difference and share my gratefulness has led me on this new path. Helping others get back on track with their health and fitness after a tough challenge.

As a retired professional Netball Coach in Australia and Overseas,  past Australian player,  Personal Trainer, Mentor and Consultant  within  the health and fitness industry for many years.  I am now directing  all of these experiences, skill sets and knowledge along with being a survivor towards a new  career.  I am offering an opportunity to All Women to experience a very personalized One on One homestyle retreat over a four day period to help them get back on track with their health and fitness.  I live in a beautiful location by the sea on the Gold Coast and this is where I completed my recovery.  Back On Track  ( thats going to be the business name) was born out of gratefullness and I want to share it with others. I have recently completed a business course during my recovery  and I am ready to launch into the area of  my own Web page. Stay tuned.......  I have conducted a number of retreats just through word of mouth and the results and feedback has been fantastic.  Part proceeds of my retreats will be donated  to the continued research of Breast Cancer.  I am very excited about this new journey and I hope I truly can make a difference.  If anyone wishes to find out more information at this point in time, until I launch the web page.  Please dont hesitate to send me a message and we can exchange phone numbers and have a chat if this is something you may be interested in doing to get  your health and fitness back on track.  cheers Dianne
