My experience would agree with the oncologist. Like you chemo put me into menopause which I gather is worse than "non Chemo" version. I have various side effects probably from Arimidex the only drug I've been on post surgery. Aches & pains etc. When I last saw my oncologist or myabe the surgeon he said that I probably awould be on Arimidex for 10 years now the study was complete and that I should lose wieght once stop being on it. While it works thank goodness is all I say after triple positive cancer.
Whether the other side effects are from chemo, menopause, Arimidex or were always going to happen is moot. My attitude is at least I get Fossamax for free as it is a known side effect of Arimidex. My father and younger sister do not both also have osteopaenia. do make sure you get a bone density test done before you start though (one of many diagnostic tests you have to pay for though)
