Hi Ladies,
I had surgery back in May and I still don't have full movement. I was given physio when I was in hospital and sent home with instructions. I, am so paranoid about lymphedema and did my physio religiously. However I got 3 dvt’s from my portacath 2 weeks after surgery, which resulted in the removal of the portacath. I started chemo a week after that, which has not been kind to my body and my physio was neglected. When I went for my 3 months check up to my surgeon I told him I was concerned at the lack of movement and the pain and the swelling sensation (although the arm did not look swollen). I got the "slow down, it's early days you have had major surgery” talk (I had 15 lymph nodes removed). I'm very slowly getting movement back in my arm but it's still not 100% . Just wondering if anyone gets that swelling feeling that I have so pathetically tried to explain.
Cheers Julie
