  • Hi Monica

I have been lucky so far and not suffered the metallic taste - the worst it's been for me is a few "furry/no taste" days in the first week. I have taken JJoy's hint though and found Tic Tacs great during that week.

    Thanks JJoy!!

  • Helpful hint with the metalic taste - Tic Tacs - "Intensity" - one at a time though - they are a blast!

  • Yes I feel a bit anxious now that is getting closer to the meeting with the oncologist but in the same time I want to have chemo started so I can move on as at the moment I feel stuck. I know that is going to be a rough ride ahead ,from what I read and heard, but I need to start this next phase of treatment. I read that during chemo you get a metallic taste in the mouth so I been a bit naughty and eat all my favorite foods and I gain 2 kg since I stopped working 1 1/2 month ago and yes will go for that special lunch with my hubby which is sooo wonderfull and suportive I can not ask for a better one. Thank you for your advice Dette as I am new to this I can use all the help I can get. How are you hope all is OK.  Take care I am thinking of you too , Monica

  • Hi Monica

I can certainly understand your frustration - I had similar feelings when the start of my chemo was delayed! Guess the good thing is that at this stage it doesn't affect treatment as chemo was going to be first on the agenda any way!

Suggestion - take the time to have a special lunch/outing with your husband seeing he's taken the day off!

I can only back up Josie comments - there are so many scribbles and edits in my diary and I've only been on the round about since May.

Take care and t?hinking of you,? ??D?e?t?t?e?x?x??

  • Thank you for your advise I will definetly folow it. It was a bit annoying as my husband took that day off work and we were hopping to see both doctors on one day .But those calendars and diary are on my shopping list. All the best Monica.

  • Hi Monica - Here's a valuable little hint - get a flip calendar and back it up with a small diary! You are going to need it and it stops confusion with appointments that can (and some often do) overlap, besides it all gets a bit much and you need to keep track - all the best Josie x x x
