The key issue for me is that my doctor lied to me (or the receptionist lied in her name) when she said that results were taking a couple of weeks despite the fact that I had already sent the message to her that radiology had said my results would definitely be through that day.
So at best I was told my information was wrong, and fed misinformation by my doctor/her receptionist when they could easily have checked the facts and should have. At worst I was deliberately lied to by my doctor/her receptionist, in order to justify cancelling my appointment.
And the effect if the misinformation (had I believed it) would have been that I and my family would have had to wait till this appointment at the end of next week that they wanted me to make before getting results that at that point had been completed. Which is a cruel thing to do.
It is totally dishonest, totally unethical, and such a breach of trust. How can anyone think it ok to treat a patient in this way?
