Apathy
Hello sisters in pink
A question?
Apathy what a horrible word. I have had small bouts throughout broken arm, chemo, breast op and radiation always managing it and snapping myself out of it. But h...
Hi Sarah, I was wondering if you might find it helpful to talk to a neuropsychologist about the whole thing. There is one in West Perth called Michael Hunt ph0893215314 and your GP could get you 10 sessions under Medicare.
You must feel so in the dark at present post surgery. I am a bit that way with my cognitive fatigue from chemo fatigue, finding my brain does not always do what I rely on it to do. Last week I was sure it was Thursday and turned up for all my appointments an hour's drive away and argued with the receptionist about it being Thursday when it was actually Wednesday.
Michael specialises in understanding the brain from a physical, neurological and psychological point of view,. He could explain what is happening in your brain as you heal, what you would normally expect after this op, and what changes you could expect, and how to cope. And maybe direct you to an organisation who could give you an advocate to go with you to appointments and ensure they respect you and answer the questions you want answered. Of course you might be wanting to know totally different stuff, so I may be wrong, but just in case, I thought I would suggest this.
wishing you welll in such a difficult time.
