Anyone on both Tamoxifen and Zolodex?

My Med Onc is recommending I have both due to ER+ and PR+. I'm a bit scared, ok a LOT scared, of the side effects. I'm 46 but not menopausal yet. Any wisdom?

Better late than never to ask how did you go?
Is treatment complete and life much healthier? I hope so

Best wishes as I catch up on my unfinished comments
  • Put zoladex and or tamoxifen into the search area above and you will find lots and lots of posts on this topic
  • Hi @Katiejane777, I've been on zoladex since February and now just started on Arimidex. I'm 43 and was pre menopausal before chemo. Like you I am er positive pr negative and her negative.  The first injection I had a bad headache for a week but that's all. Fast forward til now and my joints are stiff and painful, but some of that is from chemo. I had got flushes in the beginning and throughout chemo but they have settled touch wood. I cannot have tamoxifen due to other health complications. The advantage of zoladex is you can also go on aromatase inhibitors. I'm sure you'll be ok but if tamoxifen doesn't work well for you regarding side  effects there is other options. By the  way, I was petrified at the beginning of all this shit but mostly it's been doable. All the best and I hope this helps a little.
