It's extraordinary that so many doctors don't get the fact that what doesn't matter to them means a great deal to cancer patients. Nurses get it - mostly. Except my BC surgery nurse, who said I was "catastrophising everything" when I complained that the surgeon had given me wrong and conflicting information about some scans, withheld information about other scans, not given me all options for surgery, tried to put me on Tamoxifen when the oncologist had already put me on Letrozole, told me I needed thyroid biopsies three weeks after surgery and then the next day denied having said that ... and on and on ... Like, expecting honesty is catastrophising?
