@kmakm @JoeyLiz @lrb_03 - Okay, REWIND ! Thank you, JoeyLiz. I spent a few hours thinking about what you said about maybe the registrar made a mistake. In fact, he was seriously very cute, but I did doubt his knowledge when he said that my tumour could have been growing for months or weeks. FFS - a 12 cm lobular tumour! More likely years. I'd known for three months that something was wrong, from physical symptoms, before I went to the clinic.
I decided this morning to not waste a few more weeks until 15 June and my next radiation oncology appointment thinking about it, but to bite the bullet and ring the oncology nurse and ask about what the registrar said. She checked my records and said she has no idea why he said that. There's absolutely nothing in notes that refer to it. She said he - as a very young registrar - was there relieving for a few weeks; he wants to be a cardiologist. Doh. he apologised profusely. She said the only time chemo and radiation would usually be done together for breast cancer is for metastatic cancer. My radiation will definitely be AFTER the end of my chemo. What a waste of mental and emotional energy. xxx
