Anyone else have this condition De Quervain Syndrome's

my Osteo is investigating for me as I had pain start in my left wrist side I had surgery, then it's now in my other as well for months now. I found a YouTube clip last night and the definition certainly suits De Quervain for me I did the test and it hurt right where he said. my osteo found a forum woman having it after taking hormone treatment, I am triple negative so I'm now saying it's not necessarily the hormone drugs. interested to get to the bottom of this. I will not get any injections, etc.... my osteo and I want to find out more so we can work out naturally what to do, and also obviously doesn't always come from hormone meds. interested in anyone comments please, and what you did if anything helped other than meds.

  • Thank you Carmel and well done you on being so creative. My Osteo has had some more info we are following up, she is like me determined to find an answer, she is awesome. I will not have injections nor surgery determined to find the alternate. Thanks for your reply

  • I was diagnosed with de quervains about 12 years ago. I had held, picked up, breast fed three children & carried lots of grocery bags (worked at supermarket) & apparently these things affect the tendon involved in de quervains. I had a choice to have cortisone injections into my wrists !!!! Being a huge needle phobe I turned this down & went with strapping my hands/wrists with a cardboard splint (very much a homemade job couldn't afford a lot of doctors or physios) I did this for about six months  & learnt to pick up baby in a different manner & basically adapted to lessen the strain. It very rarely flares up nowadays thankfully & if it does I just take some paracetamol.

I am sure things have changed a lot in twelve years & they have a good solid treatment (maybe without needles !!) available for you.

Good luck with it, I know how painful it can be.
