Rosanna,I was terrified when I found out that I had to have chemo, just as you are.I finished my chemo last Monday, and I am OK:). I think many years ago, chemotherapy was really feared, and probably rightly so.But these days, the medicines that they give you to stop the side effects are really, really good. You hardly ever hear of anyone vomiting after chemo any more.Yes ,you do get tired, and I know that everyone is different, but if you have side effects, you only have to tell the oncologist, and they will always try to give you something to help.My main side effect has been the tiredness, and some niggly skin rashes.Nothing too bad though.I definitely agree with Yetbeung in that you only need to maintain a healthy ,balanced diet during chemo. You need to drink a lot of water to flush the drug from your system in the first couple of days, but other than that I don't think it is a time to change things.Maube after treatment you could look at that. Also, during chemo,I have had strange food cravings in the first couple of weeks, each cycle,so you can really only eat what you feel like.Enjoy your Christmas Rosanna, and I look forward to following your journey, and helping if I can. xoxo.
