another whole year

Cripes, it's been more than a year. I've been reading other people's comments about the changes to the website. I have to agree. I can't find any of the stuff I used to follow. It's taken me 2 attempts to find my own blog ! I have no idea if anyone will see this, I have no idea how you follow anyone anymore so I may be talking to myself but I'll post it anyway.

I've passed my 3 year mark - all scans and checks clear. Always feels good, but this time I'm over a hill and on the downward side. Before I know it I'll be at 5 years and it will seem like a bad dream I hope.

Still coping with the maddening side effects of Arimidex but they're not impossible and can be managed with a bunch of other drugs ! My husband says I rattle. Keeping a sense of humour has made it posssible to stay sane I think. I have hugely stopped the worry about secondaries for now. I can't know if they're there, so there's no point really in thinking about it. Easier to say that than it was 2 years ago.

Hopefully now I will be able to have a read through some other people that I used to - if I can find you. Love and good wishes to all on the journey, may your tests be clear, may your treatment be gentle.

much love

    Hi magicmum,

Great to hear from you and even better that it's with this great news! 3 years on... what a great milestone! Sounds like your hubby has been a great support with his sense of humor through the tough times.

As you noticed we have made some changes to the online network since you last logged in and there have been some bugs and improvements we are working through. We understand how important the online network is to all of you and we are working through as many fixes/improvements as quick as we can. If you want to see what we have been up to and find some tips to find your way around - see the blog posts I have made over the last few weeks - https://www.bcna.org.au/online-network/groups/online-network-news

And.... if you're up for a chat I am always at the end of an email or the phone, so feel free to contact me (1800 500 258, [email protected])

  • Hi Tonya, I don't think any of us will ever get too cocky - the underlying fear is always there even when we push it down! - but celebrating the milestones is so important.  Your 5 years is wonderful - congratulations!  You inspire such a lot of people. xxx Michelle

  • Hi Magicmum, congrats on the 3 year all clear. With each passing year, you breathe a little easier.I've just gone 5yrs but not getting too cocky yet! Hang in there with the network- I know it's frustrating and not the same but us 'oldies'are still checking in.It's also annoying that you don't get notified when you get comments to your blog. Tonya xx

  • Hi, congrats on the 3 year check, I am heading for my 2 year one and it does cross my mind occasionally 'what if?. Hope you continue to stay well and keep in touch, I think the website is slowly improving, but it's all so different,

    Hazel xx

  • Hi,

congratulations on passing the 3 year mark. Like you I rarely come on this site anymore, its just too hard. I hope you continue to improve.

  • Hi Magicmum,

Congratulations on passing the 3 year mark!  Like you, I have just passed it too - we have come such a long way. Isn't it  lovely to wake up and bc isn't the first thing you think of?

I hope you are enjoying your gorgeous grandchild - two this year! - time flies.  Stay well, and keep in touch.  xxx Michelle

  • Hello:) It's nice to hear from you !! Yes the blog is certainly different, and initially,I was very outspoken about it...however,things are changing a bit,and we are trying to be patient!!! I'm like you with my attitude now,but 12 months ago things were different.I think it's true, that the further along you get from diagnosis, the more you can begin to get on with things and put it to the back of your mind. Please stay in touch,as the blog is very important to so many ladies.Cheers Robyn xox
