Hi Kathy,
ACC is Assembly of Confessing Congregations within the Uniting Church in Australia. It's an internal reform movement - most mainstream denominations have them, though they rarely make it into the secular media... and if we do it can be to be ridiculed as extremists, sigh. Every human organisation goes pear-shaped at times and churches are no different. Guess cancer networks have their foibles too - but I'm not that interested in that atm, lol!
Everything happened so fast with my diagnosis and ectomy that I really wasn't scared - more in shock, I guess! Didn't feel alone either. My husband is a minister so we've been on this journey several times before - all the way to the funeral for one dear friend in Nana Glen. :-( However despite the 7 out of 38 dying every day in Australia, I am convinced this won't kill me. I had a deep outpouring of grief at a huge meeting in Sydney recently (called ONE ; 10,000 Christians packed the Sydney Entertainment Centre) when the speaker laboured the point that in a crowd that size, though most were < 40, some would not live to 2012. Our youth pastor hugged and held me and prayed for me, as I wrestled with wanting to be in heaven BUT NOT YET!! I am determined to see my grandchildren born (none even conceived yet).
Take it one day at a time? Yes, Matthew 6:34 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB):
34 Therefore don't worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
xx
