And onto Taxatere

Thanx for all the info girls ~ I'm sitting here on the day after my first Taxatere (yep, 3x FEC previously, like you shereejoy) feeling remarkably good!  Understand that it's such a unique experience that we all go thru, that it's not always going to be the same for everyone on the same route... still, can't believe how good I feel, will just take one day at a time :)  (but secretly hoping 4th day achiness will be minimal!!)

I didn't know about the gloves, they may have just got them. I put lots of natural nail cream on my nails and found that helped.

I'm glad you are still feeling good.  I took Panadol I think after I rang the hospital becaue I wasn't sure what I could take. I made sure I took it the next time. I live on a proprety near Middlemount, below the Mackenzie River School.

 I found it hard out here without any support groups and it was to far to travel into Rocky all the time as you know, but found this online.

I finished my chemo and radiotion a year ago this month.

I hope you are still going well. It hit me on the 5th day - I was in a lot of pain like I had the flu - it lasted about a night and all that remains is fatigue and aching legs.  I am now in week 3 and feel ok but exhausted and a bit flat.  Weird feeling.  It is better than the nausea and foggy brain that I got with the FEC but by now on the FEC I would be bouncing around and today all I want to do is sleep!

Yes so far so good Kay, bit muscle achey sore today, bit like I have done a hard hard workout, but still handling it better then the nausea from the FEC.  I felt pretty ordinary on that.  So what did you do for the aches and pains?  I live 3.5 hours from Rockhampton, I am interested to know where you live?  I live at Tieri.  Have you finished your treatment?

Hi, I  hope you are  holding up well on the Taxotere. I thought it was a breeze for the first few days and then it hit me on the 4th, but that just could have been me. I didn't know what to take for the aches etc, but finally got onto my oncology nurse. I knew what to take the next time it hit. I seemed to be the worst on my first found of the different drugs.  My nails did go ridgy and peel but I kept on putting on a natural hand cream which helped.

thanks ladies for your replies.  I am finding this current regime of Taxotere so much easier then FEC, but it is only Day3 .... SIGH lol

good on you half way there..... i didnt wear gloves, but i will say my nails were so strong, and long, never had nails like them, pity it was the only glamour thing about me at the time. good luck with the next half of your treatment. and yes Leonie is a n inspiration to us all.. Regards Moira
