Thanks for all the well wishes... the support from my 'new' friends is amazing. It's comforting to know that so many have been through this dark hole and come out the other side with little side effects.
Had my surgery yesterday. Home today, tired and a little sore but happy that it is all over. Now the waiting continues for the test results. I think the waiting is the worst... come on Wednesday!
Had my first ocologist appointment today... those chemo drugs are a little scary... it's difficult to comprehend that something so toxic can make you better... this Cancer thing isn't nice!
Things are moving a little to quickly for me at the moment.... I start chemo on the 3 May.. Education on the 2 May. Have to fit in family photos, flu shot, maybe a trip to the dentist as well as the extra tests ordered before then. Oh... I've also decided to get a 'port a cath'. My son had one for five years (it was removed in Jan...) so decided that it would be easier considering I bruise easy.
Doesn't look like I'll be going back to work... school kids are to germy... so the risk is toooo much... oh well... guess I'll get an extra long holiday... maybe I'll learn to knit.
I live on the south side - near Garden City...going to the Mater for treatment.... Where are you going for treatment?

"You go girl" - I bet all the stages you will look fabulous. :) Yeah I am leaving the haircut up to my hairdresser. He also knows about me with BC. My hair is in a bob at the moment a little longer than chin level. But I can't bear to see it fall out from chemo. I decided it is going on my terms, so next Thursday a "total new me"
Can I ask, do you live in QLD? with the comment on the Bronco's beanie? As I live in Brisbane between Brisbane and the Theme Parks.
Just remember, ask heaps of questions, and it won't be as daunting, when you start. Here's me telling you not to worry, and I know next Friday, I will be a walking "nightmare".
You to, look after yourself, and please let me know how you go. We can "hold hands" via internet, to give each other courage.

Went and had my hair washed by Steve my hairdresser today and told him my 'news'... we've (okay... he has decided) to cut my hair in stages... at the moment it's passed my sholders so next week (before I go back to school) I'm going to have it cut chin level and then before chemo starts we'll try the 'pixie' look. Then shopping.... One of my friends has already started.... the 'Bronco's beenie is on its way... oh well... I know her hearts in the right place!

All good at the specialist yesterday - well, as good as it gets... didn't hear alot... something like stage 2, grade 3.. and other scary words.. margins clear but some microsopic bits in the lymph nodes that the chemo should get. May come back... words that everyone here has heard before.
Like you I don't feel sick. Okay my boob hurts... and I'm tired, but not sick.
I have an appointment with the onchologist tomorrow. Guess she will explain what is going to happen and when. I'm going to try and go back to work next week just to see how it goes. I'm also about to ring my hair dresser... he's been at me for years to try a 'short style'.... short is sexy!!
It's hard trying to stay positiive... but I'm trying and thinking of Christmas...

I hope your appt today went well. I had my toes and fingers crossed and was thinking about you today.
I still just dont have difficulty saying/writing the words, but as I don't feel sick , I'm not sick. That is what I can't comprehend. Stupid isn't it?
Anyway, my appt with the chemo specialist today, was to let me know that I start my first session next Friday 27/4 @ 10.00am. I also have to go to an info session next Tues 24/4. I think this is when it will really "hit me" that I have cancer. I was also told that my hair will fall out about 14-17 days after my first session (man thats not fair). So I have decided that my hair is going to be cut short on Friday..... my hair goes on my terms, not the cancer.... I can't bear to lose it and watch it fall out. This would really hit me hard. As like most of us are, we are hair, face and clothes proud, this really isnt fair.
Anyway, let me know how you went, and I will always be there for the support. Anytime to vent the frustration out, I can be your "kick bag".

My appointment is not until 3.30 pm this afternoon I'm scared of what they found (silly given the circumstances).. how can it be any worse than saying "it's Breast Cancer" (I have still have difficulty even saying/writing those words).

Yes, me to has been going to work for a few hours last week and this week. but I don't feel to bad. My right arm hurts and so does my right breast. But I do only what I can, then go home. Work has been great, they understand.
chemo is also scaring me quite a bit. Reading the blogs and what the side effects can be is quite daunting.I hope I don't have too many side effects. Tomorrow (Wed) is my first chemo appt, I presume to talk about the cycles and when I will actually start. So I am quite nervous, but will let you know how I go.
As u said above - if kids can go thru with this, then so can we. I am not going to let this beat me, not a hope....
