alendrobell

Hi ladies, just thought i would post a note and see if anyone else is aware of the effects of taking Alendrobell. After taking Arimidex for a couple of years my bones were not too good, (osteoporosis) so my specialist put me on the access program for Alendrobell,  which i take once a week i have noted on here a few women are on it. I have been taking this for about 18months now, when i started it my specialist told me this drug could affect my teeth, and to make sure i told my dentist i was on it,  so thought i would go on it anyway. The other week one of my fillings came out, so when i went to the dentist i informed him of the drug. He then informed me that he wouldnt be able to take my teeth out if they needed to be removed, without first having test and xrays etc??? lucky enough he was able to refill it, but just wondered if anyone else is aware of this problem. Regards Moira

  • Hi Moira, long time........ sorry but had genuine reasons for being absent.

I was on Arimadex for 5 years and have just been diagnosed with bone metastases - I have lost half my sternem and have 2 lots of "spots" in my back. Because my bones where weakened I now have to have a monthly injection (in my stomach) to build up the protein in my bones- This is called X-Geva maybe you could check with your GP as to wether this could help you as it's also used for oesteo-arthritis too. I was given a book by the Solaris Centre about bone metastases and another product mentioned is Pamisol- maybe check it out too.  Just a thought. Chat soon- Kaz
