Amazing what a wig and make-up does! Well Taxotere is just what they said it was! Day 4 and 5 hits of Chemo! Soldiering on girls! Oh and by the way, I am still generally ok and positive. I have placed a few real pics on my Facebook page so every-one could be real about how I look. Still have my sense of humour, so dont worry, I will bounce back!

Its funny, when i put this picture on here, it was about how my face looked, I am passed caring about being bald and have accepted that. I guess the picture doesnt show how sunken in my eyes are, the blue veins, and translucent skin. I wasnt sad, just feeling like "road Kill". The aches and pains are unreal, and the digestive issues that make eating a real chore. If you eat wrong, you suffer.... But my sense of humour never will return, once I feel better.
I used to say"breast cancer has taken my boob,taken my hair but I'm damned if it's going to take away my sense of humour and personality!" You carry the bald look well but you do look abit sad. Taxotere tends to wipe the smile off your face on those hard days.I just languished under the doona for 3 or4 days feeling like roadkill.It's a harsh drug but you'll climb back on your perch soon Bel.Thinking of you darl and hope you are feeling better soon. Hi Bel, You are so brave to face your baldness head-on and share it with the world. I just put up a new profile picture of myself and I'm still hiding under a hat even though I have a bit of hair now - still very short though and yes, curly (yuck). I felt like a turtle with no hair at all. I didn't let anyone see me.
Hang in there with the chemo. You are doing so well with your fantastic positive attitude. Just to let you know that that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I finished all my treatment in November (except the tamoxifen) and I'm feeling great. I still don't always get a great sleep but cutting right back on caffeine has helped. It takes time and you need to take care of yourself -as you are doing - but you will eventually get back your life and feel really good again. Take care, Janet :)
