did you have chemo?

I didn't have the mastectomy but throughout my conversations regarding my treatment I was told if I opted for the mastectomy that they would try and avoid radiation because I wanted reconstruction.

I was extremely lucky though as my margins were good and my genetic tests came back negative so just a wide insision was required.

From my understanding,I think along the same lines as Deanne.I had a mastectomy,no node involvement,but I still needed chemo.It depends on each individual case,and your oncologist is the one to guide you in this.All the best.xoxRobyn

These will be questions best answered by your medical team. However, from what I was told when I had my mastectomy, radiation is only necessary after a mastectomy if there is lymph node involvement. It will be wonderful if you can also avoid chemo but your oncologist will know what is best for your long-term health. Wishing you all the best for your surgery. Deanne xxx
