I had the first breast off due to DCIS in Dec 2010 and then decided to have a reconstruction . After discussion with my surgeon I chose to have the other off at the same time as the reconstruction ( using tissue expanders).
Im a real worrier and it was the right choice for me. When I woke after the operation I had a great sense of relief that they were gone.
