Advice on Port Removal

I am scheduled to get my port taken out. I have been given the choice of having it done under a local or a general. I would appreciate insight from anyone who has had their port removed.

Thanks everyone. I have decided to get the port out under local. My main reason for this decision was that 6 weeks ago I had a general when I had my hysterectomy, so decided to not put any more into my system.
Port comes out tomorrow. Will let you know how I get on.
