Advice on Port Removal

I am scheduled to get my port taken out. I have been given the choice of having it done under a local or a general. I would appreciate insight from anyone who has had their port removed.

I also had mine done under heavy sedation in theatre both for insert and removal. Both my breast surgeon and oncologist recommended this and even my breast surgeon said he would never do a procedure like that just under local as he thinks we go through enough already with surgery chemo etc.
