Aching

Happy New Year to all

After finishing chemo about 9 weeks ago I continue on 3 my weekly Herception treatment. My body is aching. I am finding it hard to do stairs but push myself simply for the excercise rather than taking lifts and escalators.

I have been taking Panadein Forte at night which helps a little.

Also started my first treatment of radiation on Wednesday and by the time I get home I am so damn tired. And the radiation clinic just gives me the creeps.

After going away for a break before christmas I so did not want to continue with all the treatment am so over it all. Yesterday was a bonus my nephew in NZ skyped and gave me a big hug and kiss.

Well the sun is shining, it rained last night, A holiday in the snow would be nice

  • Hi BMC

Had another laugh about the nurse bit. Don't worry only have 3 tabs to go and its all over. Will try the voltaren gel and ice packs thanks for that advice.

I am also to start Tamoxifan after radiation, not sure how I will go as I am not one for popping pills every day especially for 5 years

And your right about rest, I just crash in the afternoons and then an early night.

Thanks again its so good to get another person's take on things.

    Cheers Linda

  • Thanks Jo.L

I had to have a little laugh about the nurse hat, as I have a friend who is a nurse and although I don't see her often as she works nights it's exactly what she would say to me.

I try and walk up and down the drive as much as I can each day but whilst I was away over Christmas I fall down some stairs and am still getting over that and with the heat in FNQ walking is sometimes not always on my agenda.

Southern Victoria, hope its not as bad in Victoria as 2009, I was in Kilmore then and was just terrible.

    Take care Linda

  • Hey Linda sorry the radiotherapy clinic creeps you out :( remeber its good for you..... it does seem like a long time till finished though. Good on you for exercising. I found getting mobile was the hardest, once up and moving things got easier and continued to improve each day :) With my nurse hat on dont let the Panadeine Forte constipate you it can sneak up easily ( sorry!!) Hope you had a good break over Christmas. i cant believe how hot it is here today, no rain in southern Victoria. Just remeber each treatment you have is one less you have to have. take Care jo
