Aching

Hi all, I've had my 3rd round of fec this week & as usual day 4&5 have been very painful! My muscles ache so much even standing in the shower with the water falling on my shoulders & back is painful! Is this all normal & part of this horrible chemo?

  • That is so true what you say Adean.  My main problem with constipation was from Endone.

I know what you mean by being taken over by medications.  I am 12 months past my last chemo and I am slowly weaning off most medication.  I still take various supplements but trying ....... to cut down on other meds.

Good luck to you both.  My attitude is that if you have to take whatever to get you through this then do so.  Look after number one.

  • Thanks Mich, I will definately ask about some pain relief!! THANKYOU take care Andir x
  • I'm not on FEC, but from what i have heard from others this is not uncommon. I hope you can find some way to relieve the pain.

  • Hey Andir

I had 3 FEC and 3 taxotereand unfortunately I was one who suffered badly with nerve and bone pain. Are you also having the Neulasta injection because from what I can understand this adds to it but it is also very much a necessary evil.

My GP put me on pain patches and from memory it didn't totally remove the pain but it did relieve it somewhat.

You need to speak with your Onco or GP and they will be able to prescribe something for you to help.

Not eveyone is affected by the pain but unfortunately I was an unlucky one and sounds like you are too.  The pain does lessen once chemo finished.  Not that that is any compensation for you now but it is something you can look forward to when chemo is over.

I can relate -  so I do feel for you and I hope your medical team can help relieve the pain for you.  Unfortunately during chemo we do need something like pain relief in our case to get us through.

All the very best, lots of love, Mich xoxoxoxo
