I only had not quite 3 weeks between last Chemo and radio. We tried to have a weekend away and I was shocked at how weak I was from the chemo. I struggled to walk 250m along the boardwalk to our room. I was fairly fit before chemo and up until my 4th chemo kept up with walking 5 km most days. So in a matter of weeks I had lost this fitness thanks to Docetaxel. I had aching legs, fluid retention and breathing was affected. So you are not alone with how you are feeling.
I did start to feel better during radio, which surprised me as you are supposed to get more tired! We actually moved house during radio so maybe it was the excitement of this that got me going. However, I did feel really, really tired for about 3 or 4 weeks after radio finished. I finished chemo 19 Sept and radio 12 Nov and was only starting to feel like me around Christmas/New Year.
I still get tired now (6 months after last chemo) but the aches and pains and fluid retention are long gone, thank goodness. I was surprised at how long the effects of the chemo lasted, I also did not get any hair regrowth for 9 weeks!
It takes time, but you do start to feel better and once you do recovery can be fairly fast (one week I was still struggliing the next I was finally feeling good, but tired).
Don't be too hard on your yourself, it can be frustrating but life will improve, it just might take a little while.
Take care.
