Absolutely Devastated !
Today I received news one of my 3 sisters who had Uterine cancer in 2010 and received the all clear in June last year has stage 4 incurable lung cancer. She has never smoked in her life and has been healthy otherwise. Chest X Ray a year ago for a sore back showed nothing on examination. Now, Cat and PET scan and biopsies a month later she received the diagnosis. She retired a year ago and was enjoying helping out with her grandchildren aged 7 & 8 years old. She has one daughter.
Out of 7 children - I've had breast cancer twice , oldest sister bowel cancer, her - uterine cancer, brother cerebral haemorrhage , brother heart tumour and youngest sister had a recall for breast biopsy and ultrasound on her breast for next Tuesday. My father had breast cancer - he was the first and since then there are 15 relatives with it , some no longer with us. BRCA gene negative for me and positive for cousins. Can't believe the news, soooo unfair . So much in our family . Just felt like a rant and I choose you ladies , where else would I go? Sorry if it's not allowed on BRCA but cancer is cancer . Thanks Beppie ??

Beppie, thinking of you. Don't worry about what you call "ranting", I like to think of it as a discussion amongst friends ?? x

Just read your latest post and I am even more grateful for you for taking the time to answer my question. You have been through the ringer and yet here you are posting and commenting, well done. You are certainly a strong woman and I will keep you and your family in my thoughts.

You probably already have this link but in case you don't, I think its pretty up to date. Also when you click on the approved chemo drugs, in each one is a layperson link with further information. There may be similar trials going on it Aust but I am not sure where you go to find those. Maybe somewhere on this bcna site?

Nadine, thank you for your kind words. Didn't sleep much last night and every time I woke I had tears on my face and all day. Never felt so devastated in my entire life. Wake up and that's all I can think off. She is seeing a oncologist maybe Friday to do some chemo to see if that shrinks the tumours and gives her more time. I have everything crossed and more.
