A new fear

I have developed a lump between my sentinel node biopsy scar, and my mastectomy scar. It is probably just scar tissue, but the more I worry, the more prominent it seems to become. It appears to be in the area where already a level 1 lymph node clearance took place about 19 months ago. My GP is wonderful, and suggested I have an ultrasound, so as to 'hopefully' put my mind at ease. I am having this today, and am now very nervous. This will include a fine needle biopsy if anything is discovered. The thought of recurrence is never far from my mind. I wonder if this fear will ever disappear with time. Love Chris xx

    Thinking of you today and hope the ultrasound has  been clear and put your mind to rest.  The worst part is still the waiting, which never seems to get any better. All the very best - let us know how you go - love and hugs,

    So sorry to hear that you have this new worry.It's only normal to feel anxious given what we've all been through.I've got a small pea size lump near my elbow on the "bad"arm.My surgeon wasn't at all worried- said it's most likely a cyst.But if it was under my arm I'd be freaking out.Hope all will be ok for you.

    So sorry to hear that you have this new worry.It's only normal to feel anxious given what we've all been through.I've got a small pea size lump near my elbow on the "bad"arm.My surgeon wasn't at all worried- said it's most likely a cyst.But if it was under my arm I'd be freaking out.Hope all will be ok for you.

    Hi Chris,

    Wishing you all the best news from your scans.  I was told it is really rare to have cancer develop in a mastectomy site.

    Hi Chris

    Good luck for today I to understand the fear of anything new just turning up, the hematoma that arrived not long after my surgery is still very promiment and sore and I worry .......what it underneath it, when will it go away, is the radiation causing it to harden.  I hate this constant fear.....
