A journey it is!

Well what a stressful mth I have had went to have my eyes checked a mth ago was told  I had a tumour behind the which is related to bowl cancer and I should go and have a test for it and was refered to an eye surgeon.

Finally got results back from bowl cancer test all good came back negative. Well after waiting 2hrs after my appointment time as the eye surgeon was behind in appoiintments I got in , mind you if I had turned up 2hrs late I bet I would not get in. The surgeon cheked me out and said I was wrongly diagnoised and there was no tumour , nothing relating to bowl cancer.

I am still trying to come to terms with the breast cancer and to have this on top really messed with my emotions, what a rollercoaster ride it has been.

Well on the positive side I have met some wonderful ladies through this sight  who I call my angels. You ladies are always there for each of us never judging , always supportive and for that I feel truely bleesed.

Big hugs Debbie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • I'm so sorry! Maybe you should have a couple of those nice cookies tonight! :) Don't think ahead too much. A lady in my support group has cancer in her bones. She is really well and just gets injections into her bones regularly to treat it. Seems to be very positive and is living life as normal (ie working etc). So, be positive, if that's possible, and never give up hope. Some roads are just longer and harder than others.

  •  Thanks Ziggy , will keep it in mind. I agree , the whole cancer thing is  f.............   Now my daughter has two lumps in her breast , but had an ultasound and is cyts, but one of them is bleeding inside, so has to see breast surgeon on Tuesday and see what he is going to do and also a biopsy.  It never seems to end , I wonder if I will ever see light at the end of the tunnel.

  • hi debie, I read some of your posts and yeah you are really having a bad time , this whole cancer thing is f......... but here we are and we have to find a way through it to get back in control of our lives and survive.

  • Hi Debbie

I was told by the pharmacist not to take flaxseed oil as it is a phyto oestrogen as I had a big bottle ready to take. Vit D is fine I am taking that  the oncologist put me on it as my level was low. There is a really good website that tells you about the ok things to take (herbal remedies) and have now checked that every time I go to try something. It's www.mkskcc.org/mskcc/html/11570.cfm I had been taking kelp (source of iodine) for about a month and then when I checked it says not recommended for oestrogen dependant tumours so have had to stop it. I am taking fish oil, glucosamine green lip mussel and a multi vit the aches and pains from chemo and lack of oestrogen have nearly gone just the hot flashes to contend with! I have a booklet called Breast Cancer and early menopause and it has lots of information about medication and other treatments. It's from the National Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre www.nbocc.org.au It's been very helpful in what can be a mine field to find out what is ok or not!

    Good luck

    Sarah

  • Yes it was so stressful and it cost me$ 210.00 for the visit .As well as that my brother inlaw had been told he had cancer 2 weeks before me and had his ear  taken off and some area at the side of his head due to tumours in the ear and side of head. He was also missed diagnosed told it was nothing had been to the Dr 3 times and had one lump taken out . Lump was not checked out , now having radiation and chemo near the brain , but he is doing well.

I read that you said vitamin D and flaxseed oil was good, is it ok take it if your on Tamoxifen as I remember my oncologist saying some vitamins and tablets reduce the effect of the Tamoxifen.

I see my gyno next week to see about having my ovaries out or a hysterectomy . So over Drs visits.  Big hugs Debbie xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
