Dear Joy,
I'm so glad you found this helpful. Best of luck with it.
My top tips would be:
1. You can't overdo the skin care. Cream, cream and more cream. Don't wait until you get symptoms.
2. Same goes for cool water. Always was the best treatment for any kind of burn. Some days I would have two showers just to get that cool water over my treatment site.
3. The best way to avoid rubbing is to go naked. The second best is to wear really loose clothing. I also found that turning things inside out, so the seams were on the outside, helped. Hardly a fashion statement but a lot more comfortable.
4. Plan to be tired. I've been sleeping up to ten hours a night! It hasn't been unpleasant because I've been able to organise my life around treatment. I do my chores in small installments. A lot of things have just been pushed to the back burner while I'm having treatment.
5. Plan for the two weeks after treatment to be your worst in terms of skin reaction. Just when you thought you were done! I'm also told this is when I should take at least a week to just rest and recover.
I hope this helps. Please feel free to message me if you think I can be of any help.
Love
Meg
