Hi everyone, Today is day nine after my big op and I'm now home and resting well. It's my Mum's birthday today and the anniversary of my Dad passing away 25 years ago. Our family always have a celebration for my Mum and a toast to my Dad on this day. Happy and a bit sad too. We can't do that this year but my Mum came up to visit me this morning. First time I'd seen her for five weeks as she's been on a cruise with her sister coming home the day after my op but with a bad cough so didn't come near me til today understandably. It was so lovely to see her face and I had a bit of a cry. My husband was having a shower when mum arrived so he wasn't aware that she was here. Imagine his embarrassment when he walk out of our bedroom 'stark naked' only to run back again with an exclamation of surprise when he spotted my mum sitting just behind the door. Some birthday present hey, my husband in his birthday suit! I laughed so hard I don't think it was good for me but it was an hilarious moment. Nothing that Mum hasn't seen before obviously but not of Ian. Oh well. It only goes to show we don't have to lose our sense of humour only hold our stomachs a little firmer. I'm still improving every day and very very glad to be home. Will post some details soon about the operation etc. but I still have a foggy head so need to get everything sorted out. That was so funny, laughter is good medicine they say, so as long as you held on tight I am sure it was good for you. Seeing your mother must have beern awesome, my mother passed 3 years ago and through my ssurgeries and treatment that was what I wanted most my mama. Take care. Donna

Hi Janey So good that you are home and doing ok. I am sure you will take things one step at a time. You have been through so much but the worst is behind you now. Nurture yourself and you will continue the journey onwards and upwards to full health once more. Thanks for sharing your humorous story with us. Poor Ian! Glad you all enjoyed a good laugh. Fortunately my husband and mum have a very close relationship but not that close LOL. He was embarrassed but he laughed too. How's that garden of yours? I guess everything's blooming beautifully. I can't wait to walk out in my garden but I can see the blossoms from my window. It will be nice to get outside but it's been raining since I got home. Nice today though but I wasn't feeling up to sitting in any chair other than my recliner (we have a very close relationship just now). Perhaps tomorrow if the weather holds. Cheers Janey xxx

Yes this towel bundle is my best friend right now, I've even named it Rolley. I don't go anywhere without it LOL. My husband and my son and daughter watched a comedy festival episode on TV last night and I held tight to Rolley when I laughed which was a lot. I think it was good for me though. We all need to laugh through this journey. Love Janey xxx

I was wondering how long it will be before I can sleep on my side again. I have four pillows behind my back propping me up and two under my knees. I can't sleep very well either. Well it's great that you love your new boobs. Not in love with mine yet but they are still bruised and swollen so we will see. It's a bit of a shock looking at myself in the mirror still. All the very best of luck for your next 4 rounds. You are having the same treatment as I did. I didn't find the AC too bad either but not so much the Docetaxel. I hope it all goes well for you though and you don't get the yucky side effects for this one either. Before you know it it will be over. I'm sending you big hugs for the coming weeks. Love Janey xxx

Wrote on another post today about benefits of laughter and laughter clubs just not the best when still have stitches or metal clips still in surgical scars. Intersting to hear the solution of a tightly wrapped towel bit like the tightly packed boomerang pillow I made myself post bc surgery and used for months post surgery and again when lymohoedema diagnosed at 5 year mark. Loved the birthday suit story for a birthday present. i think it may go down in bcna lore cause we all know how we feel post any surgery! Glad to hear you're home and have a mother to help/ talk to .....some of us are so,jealous. Your pink sister Carol

My belly button is still a bit yucky, so keep a watch on yours. Is clearing up so I'm not worried. Hope you're taking it easy & resting as much as you can. I'm finding the hardest thing is getting a full night sleep. Lying on your back gets really uncomfortable after a while, and I'm only just feeling ok enough to sleep on my side.. But, I LOVE my new boobs.. Hope you love yours too! Love Kat xx

It's nice to make people smile isn't it. I certainly will enjoy resting and the added bonus is my husband is off work for the next two weeks at least. Always lovely to spend quality time with him. Love Janey xxx
