8 down 4 to go!

Hi all,

Finished number 8 yesterday though with a few minor dramas. We as patients are told to report any side effects at all so I did. On Tuesday I had chest pain which I mentioned to my nurse yesterday and she called in the doctor to carry out a few regulation tests - ECG, blood test. This delayed my treatment by 2 hours! Everything was fine! Phew! But I did feel nauseous this time and had a dizzy spell after my massage. I put it down to fatique and a bit of stress. ( very busy week with school etc.). The is the first time on Taxol/herceptin that I've felt nauseous. Hopefully a one off.

Having a very quiet day today before a work do tonight.

Hope all is well as can be expected with everyone. The countdown is on to Christmas. Try and find so you time in all this chaos! Do as much as you feel you can.

    Hi Penny,

    Staying cool is still a battle but the weather isn't as bad. I'm still feeling a little nauseous after this treatment. I'm not sure whether it is the drugs or the fatique. I am certainly slowing down. You will enjoy the Look good. It is great and we deserve it. Sit back and be pampered.

    Number 8 sounded a bit full on. Hopefully number 9 is better. Have you been able to stay cool? I think you look gorgeous bald. I'm doing the look good feel better program tomorrow. Really looking forward to it, hopefully it gets me out of this funk I'm in. Love Penny xx

    Thanks Jane! Yes I am now over being bald as well. My hair is slowly growing back - silver or at least very white! Never been blonde in my life! Brunette through and through! Small amount of baby hair all over and spiky on top! I'm slowly beginning to take my scarves/hats off at work in the safety of the staffroom! Not in front of the kids just yet! ( My own definitely  at home!)

    Eight down! Well done! It's like a marathon isn't it? I only had 4 rounds of chemo this time, and can't imagine how I managed 6 months of chemo and 2 months of radiation back in 2002!! I guess your mind adjusts to whatever you have in front of you and paces you accordingly. I hope the rest of your treatment goes by in a flash. I don't know about you, but I'm so sick of being bald. Can't wait til it grows! Lots of love, Jane xx
