7mths on
Hi ladies , not been on much latley. Well it's been 7mths since my journey started. Real roller coaster ride. I must say I never thought I would be in such a better headspace as I am today. The fear is still there , but I am not letting it control me.
One thing I have learned is to speak up with Dr's and other medical teams. I am now in control, and if I am not happy about something I let them know.My surgeon has attitude and at times has a smart ass attitude, see him again in November and if he is still the same will let him know and have another surgeon lined up.
Been having pain in my left breast and under the arm, my onocologist just said it was hormonal and did not do any tests. I contacted my GP, who is just so wonderful and supportive and she sent me for a mamagram and ultrasound, said any pain shoud be checked out. Results good nothing to be concerned about, but what if it was cancer, by not checking it out it could have spread. So ladies if your concerned about anything speak up.
On 7th November , see my plastic surgeon to arrange to have the other breast of and reconstruction at the same time. Going to have implants.
I went out to lunch the other day with 2 friends, who I have not seen since I was told I had breast cancer. They seemed uncomfortable and did not want to bring up the breast cancer, so I did and after a few jokes on my side about my new boob job I was going to get , they were good. They were afraid they would upset me. did not know what to say.
Well on the 31st of this mth I turn 54 and going to celebrate , life and how lucky I am to be alive.
I have become a stronger person, in so many ways.
Big hugs Debbie
