4th chemo and 1st docetaxel

Hi everybody

I just had my 4th chemo which is the 1st Docetaxel last Wednesday. Everything went ok. No major reactions except to get a balance of the movicol which I overdid and had to be close to the toilet for the last 2 days. Still managing the walks:).

Just want to share something about probiotic. After the 3rd session, my onco suggested probiotic for my bloated tummy. My blood work for session 4 was good ....vast improvement from previous sessions although I did get the neulasta shots after each session. The probiotic is the only change/addition so I am guessing this is helping with the white cells. Just thought to share this as it may help to fight infections.

Anyway, 2 more chemo session left. Can't wait. Hope everybody is travelling ok.

  • Thanks Robyn. It is you ladies that is keeping me motivated and going. I do my walks and don't appear to suffer much fatigue.

I only have minor complaints like constipation,  tight chested, tender skin and probably the worst is the veins. However, the veins or aching arm is much better this round. Dont know what will happen when my onco put me back on full dosage next round.

All in all, I am travelling ok. Really cant wait to finish the chemo. Still dont like needles.

  • You are nearly there.Definitely keep up the walking,as it does alleviate a lot of the fatigue, and as Deanne said,it boosts those blood cells.Take care.xoxRobyn

  • Thanks for the support. I had a lot of help from the meds. The nurses at the chemo were fast to response. During the 4th session, I mentioned a mild quesiness after the infusion of the dex and they were right on top with zantac for me. My onco did reduce the strength of docetaxel for me this round given my asian background more prone to tingling in fingers and toes.

Will definately keep walking although the rainy weather interrupt the routine sometimes.

    Thanks
