3 Nodes postive & radiation treatment

I am about to sign the consent form for radiation treatment, I have 3 positive nodes out of 23.  The radiation oncologist told me that the treatment will be much easier than Chemo.

I just wonder if any of you out there had bad side effects. I don't have to have the treatment if I don't want to but the doctor said it will redcue my local re-occurance rate.  As my GP also agreed so I think that I am going ahead.

If anyone out there could give me some tips, it will very much appreciated.

  • At BCNA, we have heard from many members who recommend Moogoo Udder Cream to moisturise the skin during radiation treatment. Thanks for letting us know about the UoQ trial - I look forward to reading the study results.

  • Hi Julia

How long ago did you finish radio?  I was told that the sunburnt tan colour will fade with time.  I hope yours does too.

Was it easier to bear than the Taxol Chemo.  I am having diarrhoea and haemahoid problems with the Taxol, not nice.  One more to go and I can't wait for it to finish and then have to start the radio.  Thanks fro you input, it is much appreciated.  Big hug.

  • Hello,

I handled radio ok, my skin eventually reddened up but had no breakage, just make sure you smother creme on it as often as possible-they will tell you which one to get.

I now have what looks like a suntan over part of the radiated area which I think will stay and it is a bit tender but nothing to worry about.

It does seem to make you tired though.

    Good Luck with yours, Julia
