I can't believe I have done three treatments already, time is flying along which i didn't expect. I have a question for anyone who has experienced the same. I know hot flushes are part of the process, however, has anyone experienced hot sweats that are extreme? Yesterday was warm, we went to the local nursery and found the heat quite extreme and was in a sweat when i left the nursery,i had to go into the aircon to cool down before walking to the car! Ridiculous! I found myself hovering near to the sprayers they had to water the plants to cool down! I am doing treatment at the moment sometimes i find it too hot to sit in an armchair! I seem to heat up so much! Will this pass after treatment finishes? We are having a hot summer with little rain up here in Mackay. I am keeping fit by walking the treadmill most days and giving pilates a go to keep supple. I am going to try to go to dragon boating next week. Any other suggestions?

Hi Janet You are doing wonderful to your chemo treatment, it will go and finished soon. I didn't say I was sweat, I was "watering". When the hot flush came, it flooded in. This happened ever since I started the Tamoxifen. My treated breast was not sweating, causing another normal breast watering all the times. It made me tired of too much sweat in a day. I tried to change my diet habit and change the brand of the Tamoxifen. It helps a bit. I reckon 4:00am was the most, no matter whatever time I took the tablet. I had a cool gel pillow to ease the heat. Another thing was, right after the hot flush attack and cool off, I felt cold. Maybe my pole all open up, and that's why. I am hot and cold and hot and cold. I am busy at putting off clothes, put on, put off, and put on. :( It all because of the hormorne problem. I guess, the body will adjust itself cause I need to stick with the tablet for 5 years. Geez Rosanna, I haven't even started hormone treatment yet!! This is through chemo, its cooler today but I find I have at least 8 meltdowns a day! I sweat in places I thought were impossible to sweat from! I am getting thoughts of years ago when I used to get a bit of hormone trouble and it reminds me of then. I could never have children and I always thought it was because of my hormones and now that they have been suppressed I just think of those times and it has answered a few questions for me. I am only 10% receptive for ER pos so we will see how we go on the hormone therapy I will be discussing this with my oncologist, Kerrie on the 19th when i go for my final chemo treatment. I am wondering if this is me for my life! I don't mind having a flush when in air con but if outside its so mad!

I bought a cooling mat for my dog! Good idea never thought of me. I offered to look after the neighbour's dog, they have a pool, good exchange for me getting into a cool pool. I swam yesterday and feel a bit sore which is great! Feel normal again.

I forgot to ask if the flushes subside, i hope they do in time. I guess our hormones are off the dial and that is the result! Its just something i didn't expect! Could be worse, i am sure there could be worse side effects. Gives the oncology nurses a chuckle when my face goes pink! Haha.
