2nd margin excision success

Yesterday I went back for my report re 28JAN margin excision surgery.

Tears came when the report said : CLEAR.

I can feel all the hurray and cheers from my friends and sisters overseas through Whatapps.

Dr Rafei said You don't need anymore "cut", I'll see you 3 months later, I'll leave this to Onco & Breast care nurse for you.  Your file will be discuss next day morning, if Chemo - a struggle - for you, radiotherapy schedule..... etc.

My initial surgery was on 9DEC, 15mm+1/3 lymph nodes found DCIS.

1st proposal was to take off the whole log of lymph nodes, a week later Surgeon team changed their mine of just doing margin excision, and now it's clear.

I had a feeling, it's gone, it's settled.

I have to go back next week to meet the Nurse of my further treatment schedule. I wonder can I get rid of the follow up treatment schedule, I dont want chemo, I dont want all the side effect, I dont want radiotherapy, I dont want my skin burnt........

  • Good news Rosanna!! Whatever the oncologist suggests,I am sure that you will be okay.I am 6weeks past chemo now,and I feel fantastic Rosanna.Your team obviously were cautious, hence the change of mind.I always think that we should listen to the people that know the best, and have the evidence based on facts ,to give us the very best chance of a full and complete recovery. All the best with what you decide, and let us know how you go Rosanna.xoxoRobyn
