2nd margin excision success
Yesterday I went back for my report re 28JAN margin excision surgery.
Tears came when the report said : CLEAR.

I ended up having a second excision operation to get clearance margins in December 2012. Also started taking Tamoxifen then and went on to have 30 radiation treatments. Had some quite bad burning under my breast which with TLC from myself and the beautiful nurses at the radiation and oncology centre I went to it healed very well within a week or two after completing treatments. One year down the track and my first "mammoversary" and ultrasounds came back clear so feeling as good as one can under the circumstances. I did ask my oncologist why I didn't need to have chemo and she said that mine was a very low grade cancer and I am just trusting her and my specialist surgeon. Trying to stay positive about it all and making the most of life, not always easy as this whole thing does your head in sometimes, doesn't it?
