2nd chemo

Nicole that's great you are feeling ok to go to movies. Time to your self is good. Maybe as you pointed out not a good choice of movie. I have spent day in the garden basically. Our eldest son drove up to spend time with his mum and dad, I take it as my Christmas present. He did lots of stuff around the yard. Great helper. My hen hatched two of her eight eggs. So cute. Hi juli, I have 3 kids but they're 20.21.23. All living back at home for now. Took myself to the movies today. First time ever on my own. Saw the water deviner. Great story but a bit sad for me right now. Didn't do much to lift my spirits. Oh well. Home for another day. Love Nicole x ?

Wow thanks Nicole I did not realize that the neulaster was just not a given. They really didn't ask me if I wanted it, they jus said you need to gave this sub cut injection 24hours post chemo. Wow. I'm glad you had if next time and it was better. I did have head ache, and maybe felt some joint pain. Yeah I now know what you mean, running a marathon after taking Dex. I was up awake, really unlike me. Crazy. But not that bad considering. I was rather flat this morning, yesterday I was busy, and also did a little but of gardening and after my 6am walk , with friends, I just crawled back into bed and slept for toe hours. I'm fine this afternoon, I even attended an exercise class. And won the lucky draw $ 50:00. Hehe. Chemo number 2 in 17 days. Hope you are in good spirits and having a wonderful Christmas. Juli xxxx

My first chemo was a disaster. I ended up with febrile neutropenia. But never again. I got the neulaster injection after that. So you re lucky they offered it to you straight up. Because its a government protocol that the oncologist has to prove you need it first as it costs $2000. Other Chemo's I've been much better. Worst symptoms for me would be: headache.- feeling hot and cold-joint pain -I also have had inflammation of the vulva, so swollen- oh and losing my hair. They can give you pills for most symptoms but not that

For me the first 24 hrs I'm on dex so I could run marathons but hit the wall for at leat 2-3 days after that and a week later start to lift. But remember that's me. You're different and could cope much better or worse.  Here for you when you need. Hope you have a smooth cycle and are fit and well for round2. Nicole x ?

Hi Juli, It was on this site I heard about it. Checked with my oncologist and he said fine. So I thought id try anything. It works for me. Just one tablet a day. Reduces the hot flushes during the day by half intensity and frequency as well as during the night which allows me to sleep. Of course we are all different but I'm ever so grateful for the suggestion. Check with your oncologist first if you decide you want to try it. Hope your first chemo went well and that you experience few rather than many of the symptoms. Nicole x ?
