Different experience for my second chemo...developed allergic reaction to the Docetaxel this time - felt like my head was going to blow off my shoulders! Lovley nurses had it under control quite quickly by switching off and administered Fenergen and on the oxygen till I felt better. Scary feeling but all went well after that! Day after felt pretty tired and huge bags under my eyes! Feeling alot better today but noticing my mouth is starting to have that usual awful feeling! Half way point now...only two more to go! My gorgeous husband bought #2 Rose for me to celebrate getting through...a beautiful collection once we are finished and reminder of our strength and love for life!

That must have been a bit scarey. I remember being very nervous of Docetaxel when they explained about the possibility of a reaction. Was very glad to have that last one. What a wonderful idea with the roses. Hoping the next few days go ok for you. Take care. Deanne xxx

I had the same thing on my second dose of Docetaxel (Docashit as my husband called it). The chemo nurses were quick to get it under control. They are brilliant. It was scary wasn't it. A All of a sudden, the screens went up, I was put on a heart monitor and given oxygen and Fenergen too. The Fenergen reminded me of what I used to give my children when they were little. I now know how they felt, sleepy! I remember my husband was down moving the car at the time and when he came back, he got such a shock not knowing what was going on. But I was fine after that. The dose was slowed so that I could tolerate it better. You have a great attitude Jen. You can say you're over the hump now and on the home run. Hopefully you won't have the same problem again and you'll get through without a hitch. What a lovely photo you have for your profile Jen. Your husband looks like a really nice man. Only goes to show you how strong Docetaxel is. I really hope you are nearing the end of your cycles Kat, you've had such a hard slog of it. Take care Love Janey xxx

Jen you look so different, I doubt your own twin sister would recognise you LOL. But of course she would, she'd only have to see you lovely smile. One good thing about losing your hair is that you can experiment with different looks and styles with the wigs at the workshop. I always wanted to have curly hair so I put on a curly wig. It looked terrible so I now know I'll never have a perm LOL. I also tried on a blond wig when out with my sister and mum trying on wigs before I lost my hair. But it's wasn't for me. I having been blond since I was a wee girl.

Sorry to hear that....how horrid! But I guess when all this is over we will look back and see the extra strong women we've become able to overcome so many obstacles!

I did the workshop last Monday and smiled for the first time in ages! They picked me to be guinea pig to try the wigs & that was so much fun! Not knowing my usual hair color or style (see profile pic!) This is what the ladies voted looked the best on me (p.s. I've never been brunette or had long hair before!)

Oh you'll love the LGFB workshop. It was lovely to meet other ladies and have a laugh. It was weird and rather confronting to reveal my bald head in public (they ask everyone to take off their scarves or wigs at the start) but then we were all bald so I settled down to have a good time. Janey xxx

I cried again for an hour last night but today I put on my wig with a new hat and I feel good again. I am doing the look good feel good program on Tuesday so I hope that perks me up a bit more. The water from the shower on a bald head is quite soothing. Thanks for your well wishes!
