2 years!!

Well,I have had my 2 year checkup with my oncologist! She was so happy with me,and I feel very positive about everything:) My weight was exactly the same as it was when I was first diagnosed, and I feel particularly pleased about this,as I work hard at keeping it stable.Even though I am past menopause,I am staying on Tamoxifen because of my osteoporosis. She said to change would be tempting fate!!! I feel the same,as at the moment I feel better than I have felt in years. She just said to let her know if I noticed anything different, especially bleeding or an unusual pain.So I guess it's up to us to be aware of our bodies after treatment, and DONT IGNORE any new symptoms that arise!! Take care ladies :):) Cheers Robyn xox

  • Well done – great news, Robyn.

I have to agree with your remark about not ignoring new symptoms.  I had surgery, chemo, radiation, 5 yrs Tamoxifen and 5 years Femara before being told all was ok.  Months later I noticed abdominal pain but dr kept ignoring it.  Finally, after several months of this, went to A&E with severe pain.  Tests showed mets in liver, bone etc.  So if dr doesn’t take things seriously, ASK ANOTHER DOCTOR until you are satisfied.  If you have to change doctors, make sure they check your history. Best wishes for the future – enjoy.

  • Brilliant news Robyn & thank you for all the positive energy you always seem to bring to the network!

  • Good news Robyn- it feels great to get some distance from our breast cancer episode.I clocked up 5yrs back in May or 12yrs if you count from the first bout. Glad you are feeling well- I have a few medical issues to sort through but hopefully will be fine. Hope you celebrated.love,Tonyaxx

That's awesome !! What good news for you, and fantastic to get to 2 years mark. Take care and have a bit of a celebration with your friends and family. You deserve it, Trace ????????

  • Oh congrats!

Yes, you must be aware of anything different. Which after what you have been through, I'm sure you will be.

what a milestone to achieve regarding your weight. Well done you! ????

take me care of yourself xx

  • Well done Robyn!! Every milestone is fantastic to reach.  You really do have your head in the right space.  Something I still struggle with at times.  This too shall pass is my mantra when I am not really feeling up to things.  This network is a great place to hang out in though and I find helping others seems to help me too.  Something you are very good at.

    So happy for you.

  • Hi Robyn good to hear you have made the 2 year mark. You sound   like you are in the right head space. I still hover between feeling good to feeling like crap. I try to be positive and some days it works and sometimes it dosen't. take carexx
