What an eloquent blog.It often feels surreal when you get a bc diagnosis and then ofcourse,it all moves along so quickly that there's no time to process what has just happened to you. I can remember thinking what a lot of fuss and treatment for such a little lump.I felt fine but I sure felt crap when the cancer was cut out and treatment started ! Yes,it makes no difference who you are or how healthy you live- breast cancer can catch you. With my first bout of bc(2003) I struggled with this random, lack of reason, lack of control aspect of cancer.I came to the conclusion that it might have been caused by prolonged stress -just for my own peace of mind. After my second bout(2010),I just threw my arms up and thought, well crap just happens and you have to deal with it and hopefully, move on.But don't be surprised if you have an unpredicted meltdown at some point down the track. The littlest thing might trigger you off and it's all quite normal. It sounds like you have a great attitude, a wonderful surgical team and loads of family/friends support.Hope all goes well for you in the coming months.
