1st Minor Op
So yesterday me and hubby left the house about 5am and yet again got the train to Perth. We arrived at outpatients for 6.30 and I was whisked up to get ready for the biopsy op on my lymph nodes. The first wee nurse gave two gowns (1 to be open at the back and a dressing gown to put over. I goes in to the toilet to change......what the hell is it with these hospital gown? Do you need a degree in origami or something in order to tie them together properly? I swear to god I stood there looking at it for ten minutes and could not see how it was possible to put together, I couldn't get the snap buttons to work either, so I tied at the bad of my neck and muddle something together! Once I'd managed the RPH edition of the Gordian Knot I went back out to meet nurse no2, now this was really interesting because she is also being treated for breast cancer and it made me feel so much better talking to her about what she is going through now. It helped me realise that you have to take control of this and chemo and work are a possibility, she really was very inspiring and very helpful. So I'd already had a. If arrow drawn on me by Dr Jackson, who had confirmed with me that I was getting out the same day (thre had been a bit of a mix up and they had thought I would be in overnight...hahah! No chance! Nurse 1 tells me to take off my dressing gown and hop on the gurney, so I take it off only for her to scream in horror as she realises my gown isn't on right and is held together by 3knots! She yanks me behind the curtains and dresses me properly, much to everyone's amusement (thank god I'd kept my knickers on!) I'm trundled off to the operating room (was surprised at how many people were in there) and then I wake up! All has gone well I'm feeling groggy but some water, a pee and a hospital meal later and I'm running up Murray Street for the train ( well. It really running , more a sedate wobble). I get home, go to bed and wake up feeling pretty good! Hubby has as always looking after me and spoiling me and that's another item ticked off the list,
