I just tried the link and it goes to a "Page No Found" is this blog still available and I would LOVE to know more was to tie head scarves etc. Although I have been mostly wearing beanies (it gets cold in Canberra, even this early in Winter) and a sleep cap style one that is a bit thicker than a cotton sleep cap, but I tend to live in it. I also have a light turban (which is good when my head is cold but I am having a hot time (chemo + being 41 yrs old = meonopusal hot flashes & permanent or temporary menopause). I have some head scarves and they showed a few ways to tied them at the Look Good Feel Better workshop, but you can NEVER have to many ideas.

just to let you know they advise dark nail polish and please stick to it as it helped me too, until I thought I was too smart and switched to bolder bright colours  very late in chemo and let my nails get sun on them and am now paying the price.

 I now have nasty horrid pussy, stinking  and lifting nails so keep them in the dark and dont worry about your hair, I dyed my platinum blonde and cut it real short so it was a bit radical before it came out but I didn't care and nor will you.

My first treatment went well too. 4 days later I was walking on the beach, felt a little tired. I went back to work and enjoyed the company. It did catch up with me at round 4. Hang in there, my pet scan has indicated no cancer on any scans. However I still need the Masectomy and radio to really appease the beast. All the very best Helena

Well, today went well - cycle 1 completed uneventfully. I am feeling great...but waiting for the truck to hit sometime soon.

Thanks to Jo1234, Di and Ping re: advice about wigs and headgear. I did manage to get 2 pieces of headgear this afternoon and feel comforted that I have something to wear when my hair starts to fall out. Thanks, too, Ping, I made sure they were cotton and stretchy.

Ihave just finished8 rounds of chemo. My hair fell out 2 weeks to the day of my first treatment. I had it cut short a couple of days after my first treatment. I went to my hairdresser and was really pleased with the very short do. Even though it didn't last long it wasn't as traumatic because of the length, as it didn't clog up my shower drains. There are some really good YouTube clips on how to wrap scarves. I bought a wig but only wore it a few times as it itched and got too hot to wear. Start collecting a range of scarves,preferably cotton, or with a bit of stretch to them. I like to scrunch mine up and secure it with a bit of elastic. All the best.

good luck with your chemo treatment, i hope it all goes well for you. In-case you don't know,  the councils have wigs free of charge for cancer patients, so if you are going to go that way it's worth having a look. Most people end up not wearing their wigs due to the irritation on their scalps and the heat from the wig. There are some really nice head scarfs  around and one of the ladies on here shows how to fold them different ways.  Let us  know how you get on with your treatment and again all the best with it.
