It's the germs you have to stay away from - other people and kids might be carrying them.I think they say pets because if you get scratched then you are more prone to infection(no white cells to fight it)My cat never scratches so she was fine.I was super careful with first chemo and didn't leave the house.
However,I got sore gums then a raging temp.and ended up in hosp.on an antibiotic drip in isolation for 4 days.Chemo had dropped my neutraphils to near nothing.If placid,I'm sure your dog is fine .You just need to be extra careful when it comes to people.Don't take any risks.
