I completed 6 cyles of T/C in Dec and I can tell you that our dog (only 25kgs) continued to sleep with us the whole way through( he has a bed next to my husband) and I kissed him like I always did plus we went walking every day I felt able. He was great company in the house and I serously don't know how I would have got through it all if his wetnose and big kisses had stopped. I did get neutropenic after my first cycle but I had no infection so go figure!
On the hair thing I had short hair and it was still messy. The whole house was carpeted by my hair so got my husband to clip it all off and felt great (I was looking like a crazy zombie woman with tufts of hair all over the place) Don't shave it as if you nick the skin you could get an infection.
Good luck with the rest of your chemo if you're having radiation it's a lot easier that chemo!
