1st checkup tomorrow

Wow! now i understand when some women say they get really tense and apprehensive when they come up for their first check after treatment.   Mine is tomorrow and although i feel positive i also feel a bit scared and a lot of sadness again,  remembering what it felt like when i was first diagnosed. That gut wrenching feeling.

I really hate this cancer journey that just does not seem to leave and just hope and pray that everything will be fine.

Cheers Jo

  • That's great news, Jo!   Fingers AND toes crossed that the job search works out well -- it's always good to have something to look forward to, isn't it? :)

  • I know what you mean about it not being fair for these wonderful women on this site. But don't feel guilty cos you got the all clear. We have no idea if or when we'll have to face this disease again so we should make the most of our "healthy"time.I just hope I can be as brave as these ladies if I get secondaries. They are truly inspirational.

I leave for my trip on 11th March and will be away for 5 weeks. I'm sure I'll drop in from time to time on this site at an internet cafe or hotel.Otherwise I might go into withdrawals! I can't wait to fly out cos it's chaos around here. My daughter's partner broke a bone in his foot just a week after he started a new job.The 2 cats are still crazy. Poor hubby had to rescue one cat off  the neighbour's roof the other day.Anyway, you get the picture. I will take your advice and get my suitcase out this afternoon.

Congratulations Jo, that's wonderful news. I have been thinking of you and wondering how you got on. Yes, it is dreadfully stressful to wait for results, but yours have been great, so take a breath now and get on with living! All the best, Celeste?

  • That's good news - you have 5 months now to feel "normal"until your mammogram rocks around. We are tough chooks now so can handle a few days of anxiety before tests- especially if we get the all clear afterwards. Good luck with job hunting.I am loving not working- plenty to do around here.

  • Thanks Tonya and Di,  Good news , no more cancer found. I know i will probably feel anxious every time for the next few years, but  It is such a good feeling to be told that.  Next appointment is with  Radiation Oncologist  and mammogram appointment both in July, so they should both have the same result....... They have advised me not to come off tamoxifen or zoladex  as there is nothing else that i can have.  So i guess i will just have to "toughen up" and get on with it.  Have been busy looking and applying for work and decisions on employment should be made within the next week.  So things look as though they are just about normal again. Fingers crossed.

    Take care, cheers  Jo xx
