Any tips are hugely appreciated.
And what would you suggest to take on chemo day?

  • The first is the hardest. Tissues I had a massive melt down that had my poor nurse rushing off to find a box!  Funny now, not so much at the time.

I find music and shorter stuff to read or play games on my iPad good distractions
  • Good luck tomorrow @Melc503. First is the worst, all the unknowns. You'll be fine.
  • @Melc503 good luck for tomorrow. I take a few magazines & crossword too xx
  • GREAT that your sister is with you @Melc503!!  That makes it so much easier to go thru - and you have a driver!  :)   (Mind you, I would have throttled mine!  LOL)

Arrive early, expect to go in late ..... take magazines (short stories are easier than books), maybe an iPod with music/headphones ...... drink LOTS of water afterwards to help 'wash it out'.

Make sure you take the tablets they recommend for nausea ..... usually you will feel tired 3-4 days after the session ... and this time will vary as you go thru your sessions - others will be more detailed than me - I was just observing my husband taking chemo (not me!)

Take care and good luck, xx
