1 more to go :-)

Hello all my pink sisters out there I hope you are all doing as well as can be!  :-)  Well I had my 2nd last chemo on Thursday the 25th and it all ran smoothly thank God!  I had a terrible night though I had the most searing burning throat that not a thing would soothe it and it went into this uncontrollable cough...it lasted about 2 hours after wanting to vomit & take my temp in between..It was a rough night!  but my meds have kicked in now & I have hopefully got the later pain meds to last until after Monday as it's my twins last year of primary school concert and I really want to attend as Mariah is doing the Charleston & her twin brother is doing Broadway and there will be at least 1,000 people in the events centre, so I hope I can last for it...I am seated so thats a plus but Mariah's performance is the last one of course!  Anyway I am on the downward slide to my last chemo on the 6th of Oct and then my bi-lateral mastectomy followed by some radiation just before my new boobs are done!  I'm so looking forward to feeling better as I know we all are.

Brightest Blessings to you all,  Susan  xxxx

  • Hi Susan I hope you are feeling better and made it to the concert - was it last night? 1 more to go - that's great! Keep soldiering on and before you know it chemotherapy will be done and dusted. I can't believe I am 5 weeks post chemotherapy! Take care Ann-Marie
  • Hi Susan,

Sorry to hear of the latest side effects. Just knowing you are on the final downward slide must be a relief.  I finally had a meltdown yesterday. It all just got to me and I had a very emotional day. I spent some time with the nursing coordinator and just poured my heart out! Obviously needed to do it as I haven't really cried yet. I've got my final AC on the 30th but then 3 weeks later I start 12 weeks of Paclitaxel/herceptin! still a long haul yet but I have such a great network. I'ts the holidays that I'm not really looking forward to as my work ( teacher) is my sanity at the moment and my 'family".

Well dear lady good luck with the final treatment and of course the twins concert! WoW! Good luck also with the op. You will be fine and will feel better in no time.

Take care and I'll be thinking of you,

    Your pink sister,
