Post op - 2nd op in 12 days.

Hello this is my first post. I have just had my 2nd op in 12 days as the dr didn't get all the lobular cancer in the first op.
I am finding recovery from this op much harder than the first op. Assume that is due to not being healed after the first op.
Pain is much worse, still needing endone 5 days after the op. Still stupid tired aa well.
Any suggestions? Feel like I should be much better than I do.
Also (I  know I am feeling very needy today) given how much they had to take my nipple had to be moved. This is was done in the first op and the pain around the nipple is horrible. Is this normal?
Thanks

  • This stuff really knocks you around, @Collpepsi  The anaesthetic  is hard work for your body; two in less than a fortnight is a big ask on top of the stress of being told you have to go back in. As if once isn't bad enough.

Your pain isn't something that you can compare with someone else's. The main thing is to be aware of what sort of pain it is. If there is heat or swelling get yourself back in and  get it checked immediately.

I like Endone. (too much, probably) Thing is, it isn't always the best pain relief for me. After five days it may be time to mix it up a bit and ask what you may be able to try instead. If you feel it's nerve pain something like Lyrica may help, otherwise an anti-inflammatory may give you some relief. Give your GP or Breast Care nurse a call if you haven't got access to your surgeon and get their advice.
